CCTV systems are installed in apartments and other residential buildings to look out for burglary, theft and/or car collisions in the parking lot; and to monitor the cars in and out of the parking lot. Furthermore, CCTV systems are used as a preventive measure against crimes in vulnerable areas.

In particular, the monitoring system in underground parking lots has become obligatory by law, so many apartments that are being constructed at the moment include monitoring systems. The residential buildings without this kind of system have to install one by law. (Note: Underground parking lots with more than 30 vehicles must install a monitoring system. Refer to Parking Laws Enforcement Regulations Article 6, Clause 10.)

In addition, the demand for monitoring system has been rising to cut apartment maintenance costs by reducing the number of guards. At current apartment construction sites, the analogue system that was used in the past is being replaced by a digital one.
